Two Paths, One Origin

Alice and Elsie are the twin daughters of Mara, a homeless woman who was rejected by her wealthy husband. One day, when Mara can no longer provide them with proper nourishments, a person offers to adopt Elsie for a substantial sum of money. With a heavy heart, Mara accepts the offer, thinking that if she refuses, both her babies will suffer from starvation.
